I know it seems that this blog is becoming a manual for Wordpress. That's not what I intended and that's not what it's going to be. However, Wordpress is heaven sent when it comes to tools for making money online. My goal, as always, is to share information with you, showing you what I have done to make money online. The majority of the money I make online these days involves Wordpress in one way or another.

There is a series in the works explaining how to get a Wordpress installation up and running. It will show you how to setup a blog in the traditional sense, sort of like this one, with different subtle monetization in place. It will be great for those that want to write about any topic that they are passionate about and potentially earn a living at it.

My goal with the series, and any other Wordpress related post is to lay down the groundwork for getting your platform in place, the platform that you'll be using to make money. Once it is in place and most of the technical crap is out of the way, you will be ready to roll. That is why hosted blogging platforms like Wordpress.com are so popular, the technical mumbo jumbo is taking care of for you. But it comes with its limitations. Sure, it's free, but you aren't free to do whatever you please, especially as an affiliate marketer. Besides... getting started with hosting is very very cheap. Being that I find Wordpress to be such an important tool for making money, I was offering my services to get Wordpress installed for you. The response was overwhelming so the service is currently on hold but I'm sure I'll start it up again. Most of the steps are outlined throughout this blog for those that are more of the do it yourself types. The series is far from over there but it is well on it's way.

Once all of the groundwork and step by step guides are in place I will be able to explain what to do with the blogs to make money, and I'll have all of the past posts to make reference to for those that still need to get Wordpress installed, configured, updated, expanded, monetized... whatever.

Aside from the current blog series with steps to start a general blog to make money with I will be expanding the series in other directions. For one, I will be giving instructions on how to use Wordpress as a web site without any indication of it being a blog, but still taking advantage of built in blog features for promotion, like the RSS feed for example. Even though the blog will appear as a site, you can still publish the feed to public feed directories. That sort of thing will be covered.

There are simple projects that I will be covering, like using Wordpress as a review site. You can review products and have your visitors rate them. These sites convert like crazy and the content is always fresh because your visitors will be doing the updating with their reviews and ratings. It works very well.

So...getting Wordpress on your own hosting account and installed and configured will be the initial steps to a lot of the projects I will be stepping through.
