Adding A Spun Article To Free Traffic System

June 18, 2010

Miscellaneous

In this post I will go through the steps of adding an article to the Free Traffic System (free version).

I will assume that your article has already been spun. For more info how to spin you can look at the video tutorials on the inside of Free Traffic System. Just be sure you are using these tags: [spin] and [/spin] and using a pipe symbol (above the Enter key), which looks like: | to separate words and phrases within your spin tags.

Each “spun” version of the article must be 450+ words. The free version of Free Traffic System allows 2 free links posted on 30 blogs.

1) Sign up for your free account at Free Traffic System.
2) Go into the ‘New Article’ screen.
3) Add your keywords (anchor text) and URLs.

You can use as a good number of keywords for each link. The keywords must be interchangeable because FTS will be randomly choosing one and adding it to your content.

You may also add more than one URL for each link that gets created. In general you will probably be using just one but this is handy if you want to create backlinks for a bunch of Web 2.0 properties for example.

4) Next paste in your “spun” title. You can click the ‘Check’ button to be sure your spins aren’t broken and to see how many unique titles will be created.

5) Paste in the article body including the tokens. The tokens are placeholders where you want the links to show up. You can use %LINK1% and %LINK2%. Since these articles will eventually be syndicated onto blogs the links can be anywhere within the content. However, if you are bringing your spun content over from a different distribution network used for article marketing, you can also paste your resource box in at the bottom if you wanted to. Then just replace the URLs with the link tokens so FTS knows where to use a random keyword for the anchor text, and a random URL (assuming you used more than one in step 3) for the link.

EXPERT TIP: If you are in fact pulling in spun content from another article distribution network you can also bring in the article summary (which is required on those networks) and use it at the top of the body of your article in FTS to get the word count over 450 if necessary.

6) Add a tag for your article. Only 1 tag is allowed for free users.

7) Now it’s time to find the 30 (or less) blogs that you want to post to. This is kind of where things get a little clunky. The first step is to enter several words (separated by the pipe symbol) and click ‘Get Blogs’ and the system will look for blogs (that you can post content to) matching those words.

It will then display a list (sometimes quite large) of all the blogs matching your request. It will show the title of the blog and all of the categories of the blog below it. The categories all have check boxes next to them. I really think that they should be option buttons because you are only allowed to choose one.. but the system will pop up a javascript error if you pick more than one catgeory for a blog. If that happens, just lick “OK” and move on.

Important: Don’t let your article get rejected because you’ll have to start all over. You see… even though a catgeory may seem relevant be sure to look at the title of the blog also to be sure it is relevant. They can (and will) deny your article if you try to post to an irrelevant blog… which is great to maintain integrity of the system.. however the system is still flawed. First, they don’t send you a message telling you it’s been declined and you have to manually request that they delete the denied article from the system and then you have to start all over. Learn from my mistakes and take time with your submissions.

Once you choose all the blogs you want to submit to (the system will tell you if you picked too many so you don’t have to keep count), then press Enter. I’ve found that the submit button at the bottom doesn’t always submit when clicked for some reason, but I have never had a problem when using the Enter button.

After that the system will start spitting out the article and generating backlinks for you! Any questions you know what to do…
