OK, I made the switch to AWeber for email sign ups on this blog. My feed is still being burned with FeedBurner and those of you that signed up by email prior to yesterday will still get emails from FeedBurner. I used to only use AWeber on my web sites but now that you can tie it in with your RSS feed I decided to start using it on my blogs as well.

There are a lot of advantages with AWeber. First, you will receive an email alert (if you choose to) anytime someone signs up. There are more chances to contact your list too. With Feedburner the only contact with your list is through blog posts (as far as I know). With AWeber your list will be able to see blog posts and automatic and broadcast emails that you send as well. As far as FeedBurner stats go, AWeber signups still count if you set it up correctly. Paste your FeedBurner feed link when creating the list and all is good.
Unfortunately with AWeber your readers will only see a snippet of your blog posts and they will have to click through to read the rest. That’s good for the blog author but may be annoying for the subscriber. To circumvent that you can copy and paste your full post in the excerpt box (for WordPress users).
