A great idea that I'll consider doing at some point for this blog... PokerAffiliatePrograms.com is rewarding their top commentators with some cash. They are giving the money away monthly and they are upping it to $150 if you are also subscribed to their feed. I really think that I need to learn more about FeedBurner because I'm not sure how they verify that you are in fact subscribed, unless they just take your word for it. I understand that with FeedBurner you can see the addresses of the people subscribed by email but not with a feed reader, which is the link they provide you with to subscribe. Who knows...either way, I'm subscribed and going to be an avid commentator. They provide affiliate tips that could help anyone in the business but it is mostly poker specific from what I read so far.

Teach People How To Promote Affiliate Products

I really like the idea of PokerAffiliatePrograms.com which is mostly why I decided to write this post. What they are doing is providing links to affiliate programs for a specific niche...namely Poker :) and they are adding great value. In return, they are getting a whole slew of sub-affiliates or 2nd-tier affiliates. Now, any money that there sub-affiliates earn, they also get a commission. It's beautiful.

Get An Army Of Sub-Affiliates

Take a lesson from PokerAffiliatePrograms.com. They are doing more than just listing affiliate programs with their links attached. They are doing more than just giving you the pertinent details of the affiliate programs. They are explaining how to work them, how to market them. The folks behind the scenes are obviously pros in this area and are affiliates themselves. They know what works and what doesn't. They keep you abreast of latest news in this niche and provide the knowledge to become a successful affiliate.

Better Than Being A Merchant

In my opinion this strategy is better than being a merchant. You rake in money by being a top affiliate for a particular broad niche. You teach others to be successful in the same or a little tighter niche and profit from their efforts. And, it's not like you are teaching people 1-on-1 either...every strategy is read by potentially 100's or 1000's of people.

Awesome idea! I must admit, I'm not an expert in any particular niche at this point, in order to pull something like this off...but in due time that will be my direction.
