In the past a lot of eBay affiliates followed a simple model... get as many cookies on people's machines as possible. They weren't concerned with what the customer purchased or when they purchased it. That approach was short sighted as became evident with the new eBay pricing model.

If you sell someone on a particular product within your website, they click your link to go to eBay and bid on that exact product right away or use the BIN option if available, you deserve to be paid well and eBay will increase the quality of your clicks and pay you more per click. The review/guide style site, as taught in this 9 step guide, falls in line with the new pricing model on eBay. If you grasp what is being taught in the guide, and take action, you will be well on your way to making good money "per click" as an eBay affiliate.

The new way to make money online as an eBay affiliate... write a review on a particular product type/brand, explain to the potential customer why it is good to purchase it on eBay, present them with a few relevant auctions to click on (use phpBay for this), or even a link to search results (no plugin required), they click the link or auction listing, and are more likely going to place a bid or use the BIN feature right away. Think "targeted" customers and you will earn more per click without question.

Of course, you are now going to need traffic and lots of it. One customer just won't land you $50+ with this new pricing model as was a possibility in the past. Also, you will need quality content.

Using Long Tails And Outsourcing Content

My recommendation... Find long tail keywords to use for each and every review post (or page) and guide. Of course you want low/weak competition keywords with high searches. Use Market Samurai to make getting these long tails very easy.

If you don't want to write content, try CyberHubOnline.com for cheap content. Tell them your long tail and you can get 300-400 word articles for around $2.00 each when buying in bulk (about 25+ I think). Give them 3 or 4 specific questions to answer about each product as a guideline.

Build Deep Backlinks

Social bookmark and build backlinks to each review. Use a service like Article Marketing Automation (AMA). You can submit articles with links back to your site using your long tail keywords as the anchor text. Create a 550+ word article in the required format for AMA and you can end up with over 100 backlinks to 3 different pages to your site with just 1 submission! Do that until all of your review pages and guides have links back and traffic will flow as you climb the rankings in the search engines. I would submit several that link back to your main page or for any keyword that has higher competition.

Use the launch package as mentioned in this post. It's a great way to bring in traffic and garner extra backlinks.

Maybe try odesk.com to hire someone to do some blog commenting for you linking back to your site from related blogs. You might pay around $20 for 100 links. Use Comment Kahuna or Market Samurai to find a list of related blogs that offer do-follow links and give that list to the person you hire.

Recap

I feel that with the new pricing model at the eBay Partner Network that the process taught in the N1Way Guide could almost be considered required knowledge. It's almost as if they knew this change was coming. Follow along and build your sites and you will succeed as an eBay affiliate.

There are content networks that exist that offer free, unique, automated content to anyone interested.

The way it works is, marketers with a monthly subscription, will submit content to the network, usually in the form of 2-3 articles merged together in a special format. They will include links back to their sites within the content with whichever anchor text they want (depending on the network, the links might be in the resource section at the end of the article, or they might be within the article itself).

Well, with the content submission, there are easy to use tools at the network that assist in magically creating unique versions of the content. I can't discuss exactly how the system works on the inside but know this, it does not create machine generated junk, it generates quality articles from the merged document that was submitted. Sometimes in the neighbourhood of 100's to 1000's of unique, quality content is created! OK, so that's the paid end of the system in a nutshell, now for the free content...

If you have a blog, or in some cases an article directory, and in fact, with one of the networks it doesn't matter your platform, then you can sign up to the free end of the system to start receiving unique content automatically for practically any niche.

I have been working with three of the biggest, well established content syndication networks, both on the free and paid end. My reviews for the free end of Article Marketing Automation, Syndicate Kahuna and Unique Article Wizard are posted below.

The quality of content on all of the networks that I reviewed are anywhere between "not bad" and "great". They are all pretty much equal in this regard, in my opinion. The good thing is, you aren't forced to auto-publish any content, so you can "reject" or remove an article or post and it will never see the light of day.

Get Free Content Now!

Unique Article Wizard

Unique Article Wizard (UAW) is my top pick as far as the free content networks go. The content that you get from UAW is much like you would see on article directories where the links show up in the resource box at the bottom, and it shows the pen name of the author. This content is great for running a niche article directory but can be used on blog platforms as well.

UAW supports several platforms, including email to retrieve content. The fact that you can just pull in content by email and not specify your platform makes it the most versatile system. You simply copy and paste the content anywhere that you want it to go. There are also easy to use plugins created for popular content management systems including Article Beach, Article Dashboard, Article Friendly, Article MS, Drupal, Joomla and WordPress. It also lets you auto-post to Blogspot blogs, so it isn't restricted to just self-hosted platforms.

The filtering options for the content that you want to receive are more flexible than the other networks. You can specify keywords for the content that you want and/or select existing categories. You aren't forced to select both categories AND keywords. A great feature of UAW is that you can specify negative (or exclusion) keywords as well. In other words you can specify that you want to receive articles from the "health" category as long as the keyword "hoodia" doesn't exist within them. This offers great flexibility and very targeted content.

The "tags" or "keywords" that come in with this content seem to be auto-generated and don't make much sense. Often you will see single letter tags. It's a bit annoying but easily fixed.

You can also specify that you do not want video and images showing up in the content you receive, unlike the other networks.

Although 1000's of unique renditions of the article that you receive will exist on the network, from my experience so far, they seem to do a pretty good job of not sending you multiple versions of the same root article for the same site.

A really cool feature of UAW is that you can get a link added to the bottom of each article that you receive that let's someone republish the content on their own site, but not the same version. They must signup to UAW to get that content and they will receive one of the unique versions, and when they sign up they use your affiliate link, and if they go on to become a paid memeber, you get credit for it. Also, the republished version will include a link back to your site where they originally pulled the article from, including the anchor text you chose when setting this feature up! This feature alone makes this my top pick.

So, all in all, UAW is the most flexible system with support for the most platforms. Also, if you are submitting content to UAW, it's nice that your content will be spread across multiple directories, blogs and other websites, instead of just blogs.

Article Marketing Automation

Article Marketing Automation (AMA) is a pretty decent network for getting free blog content. I've been using it for quite awhile now. It's a tie with Syndicate Kahuna for my 2nd pick.

There are no plugins or anything to install with AMA. AMA submits content to any platform that supports the XML-RPC API or Atom API, which includes WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and also some non self-hosted platforms. You have to specify your login credentials to AMA in order for their system to get access to your platform.

When choosing content you pick from a huge list of categories or subcatgeories. You cannot specify inclusion or exclusion keywords though making it less targeted. For example, I couldn't pull "acai berry" related content and leave it on auto-pilot because there is no "acai berry" category and I couldn't specify that as a keyword. An example of where exclusion keywords would be handy... I'm getting content for a video game site that I setup and I get great content for it but the bulk of it has to do with "world of warcraft" which I don't want for this particular site. So, having exclusion keywords would be good in this situation. But, since I don't auto post the content, I receive an email which contains an "accept" and "reject" link so I only publish the content that I really want.

A good thing about the email approval system with AMA is that it won't put the content on your blog at all, not even as a draft like the other systems do. This way, that content gets put back in the pool for someone else to pickup and doesn't go to waste. I know that there are sometimes 1000's of versions anyway so it might not matter but if the person submitting the content was lazy with the "spinning" of there content, then they might only have a dozen or so unique articles available so every single one is important in that case.

A big drawback with AMA is that you will receive numerous unique versions of the same root article for the same site. Apparently not something they considered when building the system. Syndicate Kahuna, on the other hand, does a great job with keeping multiple unique versions away from the same site.

Category matching with AMA is great. If you want content from multiple categories because your blog has multiple subjects than AMA handles this well. If you want content from the "weight loss" catgeory on AMA you can tell it to drop the content in your "lose the pounds" category and so on. AMA is probably the best of the 3 as far as category matching goes.

AMA does a good job of monitoring the submitted content by keeping it in the proper categories for the most part, while UAW seems to let more slip into the wrong categories. Also AMA's tags seem to be more human generated and are fitting for the content. Also, when turning on AMA, you can expect to receive content very quickly, sometimes within minutes of activation.

Syndicate Kahuna

Syndicate Kahuna is another great network for getting free blog content. It is a close tie with Article Marketing Automation. It depends a lot of the blog I develop, whether I choose AMA over SK. For example, since AMA doesn't allow keyword selection but only categories, when I created my automated "acai berry" blog, I used SK for the content. With SK you must pick the categories from which you want your content, plus you must pick the keywords that you want to exist in the content of your chosen categories. This allows you to get very targeted.

EDIT: It just came to my attention that you can match up categories now with the existing categories on your blog. There is a small link in the SK welcome screen that gives you can alternate way of adding a site. I selected an option to bypass the Welcome screen awhile back so I completely missed it.

I don't like the way the category matching goes though. It's flexible in one way and not another. When choosing the categories that you want content from, you are able to change the SK category names to match the categories on your blog, which is great. For example if you want content from the "weight loss" category on SK and you want it in your "lose the fat" category, you just have to change the SK category name. If you don't change the name, SK will create a new category on your blog.

What isn't flexible however, is that the keywords you specify apply to all your chosen categories. So, if you wanted to get "natural remedy" content from SK's "health" category to be put in your "natural remedy" catgeory AND you also wanted "weight loss" content from SK's "weight loss" category to be put in your "weight loss" category you couldn't do it with SK, because SK will looking to both of your selected categories for content matching both of your keywords.

EDIT: It just came to my attention that you can match up categories now with the existing categories on your blog. There is a small link in the SK welcome screen that gives you can alternate way of adding a site. I selected an option to bypass the Welcome screen awhile back so I completely missed it.

So, SK forces you to get very "micro-niche" in a way. But you know, a lot of the most successful affiliate sites are very micro-niche anyway, so SK may be doing us a favour.

SK only works with WordPress at the moment. You must upload a binary file to your server so that SK can communicate with WordPress via XML RPC. There is no need to supply SK with your login credentials. EDIT: You now have the option to use XML RPC (by supplying your login credentials) or uploading the binary file.

You can filter out content with certain keywords as well as content that contains links from certain domains. Also, you can opt in or out of getting adult related content. It's off by default.

Sign Up Now | Submit Content

As mentioned, I get content from all 3 networks. They all serve a different purpose in a sense, and serve the same purpose in another sense. Also, picking a combo of either SK and UAW, or AMA and UAW to submit content to, you will be getting tons and tons of backlinks with your chosen anchor text (or random anchor text), in a slow, natural progression. You can submit unlimited content for unlimited domains on these networks. Some marketers say that article marketing and/or blog content syndication is all they ever do for SEO! With one of the combos mentioned above, you will be covering both article marketing and blog content syndication but with unique content across the web, rather than the same article posted everywhere with typical article marketing. The AMA and UAW combo is the cheapest package.

I have a few blogs that I setup awhile back that are virtually on auto-pilot. The content is all unique, automated and 100% free. Also, backlinks are created automatically. For these blogs I usually just put a banner in the sidebar, sometimes I float AdSense to the right of each post, sometimes I add eBay auctions underneath the posts or on a separate page. Also, I usually put some sort of ad on the main page above all the posts.

One of the blogs, on the topic of acai berries, has a conversion (worth $41) every 2-3 days. Did I mention that I don't really do anything to it anymore? I just let it run on it's own merit.

Free Blog Content

To get the unique blog content, automatically added, and for free, I look to SK or AMA. It depends a lot on the topic, which network I choose. AMA has a large selection of specific and broad categories to choose from. SK has just broad categories. However, with SK you can also specify keywords for the content that you want. So for the acai blog I used SK. I picked a few categories, like Health, etc. then entered the keyword "acai". Initially I set it to 10 a day until I reached 10 posts, then changed it to just 2 a day. If the specific category that you are looking for exists on AMA, that's another great choice for free blog content.

Auto-Backlinks

You can use plugins that will automatically Social Bookmark each post as it gets published. Auto Social Poster is a good choice, plus there's an Onlywire auto-submit plugin (free) floating around. I haven't used it so I can't account for it's quality. Plugins like these have to be constantly updated to keep up to date with the bookmarking sites, so it's more likely that a free plugin developer may drop the ball. Granted, the OnlyWire plugin requires just one API call, so it may be a freebie that stays up to date. Let me know.

Also, the free content you get from either AMA or SK has links to 3rd party websites in it (that's why it's free), well, a lot of times they link to other blogs, which initiates a trackback link, so you will be automatically getting backlinks from niche related blogs on occasion.

That's all I really did for, no effort, free, auto-backlinking on these blogs.

Semi Auto-Backlinking

There's another process that I use for getting backlinks to these blogs. There's a bit of work up front, then it's automated after that. You submit an article in a special format (generally 2 or more articles merged together) to SK or AMA. The articles, when processed by SK and AMA, will generate several unique versions of the article. Each version contains your choice of hyperlink(s).

The anchor text can be random and so can the URL, so it's a good idea to do some deep linking, perhaps to a category page, or a review page if you included one on your blog. Now, slowly over time, you will get backlinks from niche related blogs, which is really just the reverse process of getting free blog content to your blogs (like mentioned above).

There is a fee to do these submissions. It is a monthly fee and lets you initiate as many submissions as you want during your subscription period. It generally takes about 2 months or more for 1 submission to run its course (for slow, natural link building), but you can run multiple submissions simultaneously for as many sites as you have.

Last I checked, when signing up for the free version of AMA, you get to try the normally paid service for free for a short time.

I just found out, Article Marketing Automation is giving away a free trial of their blog syndication services. If you aren't sure what that is, I wrote a lengthy article about it the other day. Essentially, it involves getting possibly hundreds of do-follow backlinks (eventually higher rankings, more traffic, more PR) to your web site from sites in the same or a similar market (relevancy), slowly over time (natural link building). You only need 2 unique articles to accomplish this if you follow the steps I laid out in the post: Link Building By Way Of Blog Content Syndication.

All you have to do is sign up for AMA's free blog content service and they will send you the bonus of the syndication service as well right after you confirm your email address. I'm not sure how long it will last so don't get mad at me if it's not available after you signup. I only found out about it because I started a test account a few minutes ago.

You are given 2 weeks of the free bonus, plus the ability to submit up to 5 articles. I would take advantage of it ALL if I was you. That's a lot of backlink potential. Now, I'm not sure if the backlinks stop after 2 weeks (probably) or if you have 2 weeks to submit your 5 articles and they will run their full course which is usually a couple of months or more (probably not). If it's just 2 weeks of the automated backlink building, that is still pretty awesome!

Be Prepared Before Signing Up

You will need to fill in some "how-to" gaps by watching their video tutorials, etc. immediately after signup but there are a couple of things that you may want to do before starting your account. You should write (or have written) all of your articles ahead of time. Aim for 10. Follow the steps in my blog content syndication post for sentence matching and eventually merging. You could wait for the merging, and possibly the writing of the extra article, until after you signup because they have a tool that you can use. But remember, the clock is ticking. I would have 5 articles ready at the very least, maybe around 400+ words each.

Just so you know, AMA groups sentences with curly braces and separates them with a tilde. For example: {This is the original sentence.~This is the rewritten sentence which is supposed to mean exactly the same thing as the original.} This example is really the power behind spinning articles properly. Write your entire article like that (essentially creating 2 articles) and the spinning system has lots of sentences to work with to create random, valuable, human readable articles that are for the most part unique.

Use this link to jump right to the free AMA account area. I'm not sure it's accessible from the main page.
