Your BANS license entitles you to as many BANS sites as you want. The BANS sites you create must take on a look and feel of their own to stand out from the rest.
The default templates that come with the BANS script are pretty boring. They are a dull gray and look like soooo many other BANS sites out there. Besides that, they weren't exactly created with SEO in mind.
Ian Fernando saw a need to create some attractive Build A Niche Store Premium Templates that stand out from the crowd. He also took the time to tweak up the HTML to make them more search engine friendly.
I asked Ian if he would like to sponsor his Premium BANS template pack for the contest I was about to start. He quickly responded and said he would give 2 away! I would have liked to give both away to you guys, the problem is, that I was only giving away 1 BANS license. It would be kind of like the hot dog without the bun. So he offered it to me instead to evaluate.
I was just starting to get involved with using BANS and since my design skills are lacking I gave Ian's template a spin. It was super easy to install and it was up in a flash. I also had tons of space to monetize the site even further.
I'm pretty picky when it comes to the HTML code in the background so I prepared myself for an afternoon of code tweaking. But when I jumped in there, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have to touch anything. It was a set it and forget it template!
I have one small beef about the template though...(sorry, just keeping it real)...it may have just been an oversight. (and if that's the case I will correct it here) The header image for the template that I chose was very nice. It had a gradient look to it, but of course it needed to be modified to suit my site. Well, the header graphic wasn't included in layered format with the template. (at least I couldn't locate it)
I wasn't able to change the text on it in my graphics software. I believe normally with templates, the graphic is included in it's native format, usually Photoshop, allowing it to be edited without losing any of the cool features.
Also, the font is often included in case your system doesn't already have the particular font installed. Well, I had to recreate the image from scratch and since I'm not very good with graphics, I lost the gradient and the shopping cart logo and plus the font is different than the original. It's not as appealing now but it's still not too bad I guess. It just would have been nice to have the layered graphic for editing.

The BANS templates that Ian offers are very affordable. He has recently included Premium Template Package #2 to his product list and has a discounted price if you buy both. His customers are quite happy with their purchases. Have a look at some of the unsolicited testimonials.
Ian obviously has seen a boost in his BANS site earnings after switching from the default template to a custom one. He feels strongly that your site will generate more income after applying a custom theme. If you aren't satisfied within a month he will refund your money.

Wow – these are great. The regular templates that come with BANS are exactly as you said – gray and boring. It takes a lot of work to dress up the code to make it NOT look like everyone elses BANS site.
