I contacted all the prize sponsors for the KwikStart MMO Contest letting them know that the contest is wrapping up in a couple of days. I asked that they write out a brief explanation of their product or service that they are offering... so when I get a response from all of them I will put it all together in an upcoming post...so stay tuned.
I wrote a lot of posts yesterday...and of course they've been getting buried quickly...so here's a quick recap.
Please take the time and read Who’s Your Favourite Web Hosting Provider? if you haven't already. If you comment on the post telling me about your web host and what you like and dislike about them, etc. you can use your affiliate links in the comment.
Also, in the post... Ask The Universe (or God) For Something, You Will Get It ... please just don't skim through it. It's really not as weird the title may sound :) I received a couple emails with people concerned that I have turned "religious" or "philosophical". Nope...same dude...just excited about the free Wii I got! haha I've knocked my Wii Fitness Age down to 64 BTW!
Don't forget, there are new ways to get a crazy amount of entries for the contest!
Did you get your free advanced framing script for PPC to CPA offers which makes split testing offers easy, has built in keyword tracking and a manual geo-targeting feature?
Read through the comments on the The Niche Store Builder post, there are alternatives to BANS...some for free.
phpBay vs BANS
I've played with both tools now (phpBay and BANS) and I have to say that from what I noticed BANS has only one advantage over phpBay. BANS will pass the page name where the conversion came from over to eBay (kind of like the sub id). So, when you do your transaction download, you will be able to see what pages are generating what sales. phpBay has a global setting for that which sucks....but that's minor compared to everything else phpBay does.
Oh...and the phpBay affiliate program pays peanuts compared to BANS...sorry Wade, but you are cheaping out on us :)
What I Like About phpBay:
- Integrates into WordPress - this has obvious advantages, including SEO, fresh "real" content, ease of use, flexibility (add auctions to posts OR pages with optional advanced config settings)...
- Multiple country auctions - I HATE that BANS doesn't have this. I setup a BANS site recently (2 weeks ago) and my promotion efforts were mostly through Facebook. Well...the niche that I chose has a wide variety of "fans" across the globe. But my auctions cater to the US only. Sure, some might ship to Canada or worldwide but most do not. When I start getting more involved with multi-country phpBay WP blogs/sites I will be asking Tom to write me a script for geo-targeting and set a cookie with the country. Then I will have flags across the top for choosing a different country. I'll share it when it is complete.
- phpBay is cheaper than BANS - spending less money for a better product is exciting
If you recall, BANS staff flat out ignored me when I requested a free copy for the contest (multiple times lol) so I decided to buy a copy myself to give to the winner. BANS even ignored my email asking how I transfer a license to someone after I buy it.
So, I will be giving the winner an option to get the phpBay WordPress plugin instead. I will give you the difference in cash between what BANS costs and what phpBay costs. I don't know what it is off the top if my head and I can't check because my Internet connection keeps dropping. You say the word "rain" and the DSL connection from Primus drops. They get no love from me
BTW, there's a lite (free) version of phpBay (scroll to the bottom). It's not nearly as cool as the full version and doesn't have the amazing features that make phpBay stand out from the rest....but it is free and super easy to use. The customization is severely limited but you will see the potential of it.
Another Free Script Is On It's Way
I had another script created and got permission to give it away to you guys. It will allow you to pair keywords from multiple lists (up to 4) to create unique long tail keywords. (pairing keywords with city names for example) It's one of the many great features of SpeedPPC but with 2 extra columns (and of course, it is stand alone and free). I will include some city lists, etc. with it as well. I bought them awhile back and had them updated recently.
