Make Money Online

phpBay Earnings

If you aren't dropping eBay auctions in your posts on your niche blogs, you are missing out. Above are some earnings from a new site just after a couple of weeks of being up. Sending eBay new customers pays very well, plus you get half the transactions fees for the auction your customer participated in.

You might have heard the buzz about a bunch of eBay affiliates getting slapped. Well, some may not have deserved it, I don't know, but the ones that did were trying to game the system. They were doing everything they could to get their affiliate tracking cookies on regular eBay user machines. Since you can still get commissions for existing user transactions, this worked well for awhile. They were doing things like linking people to popular or funny auctions knowing they wouldn't place a bid (like I did the other day) except they were using their affiliate links. Then, the person would click over, a cookie would be planted, they would get a good chuckle then close their browser. If they jumped onto eBay a couple days later and did some bidding, the affiliate that sent them to the funny auction would get credit. Clever but black hattish.

How Not To Get Banned From eBay Partner Network

Link to auctions that are related to the content on your site. If someone clicks on a TV auction from a TV site and buys a TV from eBay, you deserve a commission and eBay will reward you handsomely for doing so. Their new commission scheme is of great benefit to affiliates that do this...and you can get up to $50 for new customers!!

Geo-Targeting With phpBay

I told ya in the post: things I love about phpBay is that you can setup geo-targeting to automagically show auctions specific to the customers country. That plugin or mod comes free over here: phpBay Multiple Country Plugin.

Best phpBay Add On So Far!

Another add on, I think for $15 (worth every penny), written by the same guy as the geo-targeting plugin, will drop a widgetized search box in the sidebar of your blog. Not only will it display a page (or post) of search results with a bunch of eBay auctions but it will save the page (or post) on-the-fly, so you will have new posts being created all of the time for you. It will then email you when a new one is created (if you wish) so you can be sure that it's on topic. Very cool...check out the Auto Content Generator Using the Search Function of Your phpBay Site plugin here.

Free phpBay vs phpBay Pro

I tried the free version on a couple niche blogs that I wanted to sell because I didn't want to force a license on someone. Well, the free one is very very limited in comparison.

20% Off Discount Coupon For phpBay!!

I earned my money back after 30 days of using the plugin. Had my most recent site been my first site then I would have had my money back inside of a week. I managed to get a discount coupon for you all if you haven't already scooped up phpBay. A rare privilege since it's only for top affiliates (which I'm not lol). Use my phpBay link here and use the coupon code: DA9CD69F42. I got it last week but I didn't get around to posting it till now. Sorry! It's good for a little while longer though.

    hi Keith,
Joyce sent me here, said you had a great blog going on, so I decided to have a look. I tried clicking the link you put in for the phpebay plugin, but it isn´t working, brings me to a page saying it couldn´t find what i was looking for, just thought to bring that to your attention :)

gonna read a bit more, looks promising so far,
    cheers!

phpBay is awesome. I’ve got about 8 phpBay sites going right now. It couldn’t be any easier. The only pain is keeping up with all the Wordpress and plugin upgrades.

Hi Mirjam…Thanks for the heads up! It was a case of the missing http…whooops.

Joyce eh? She’s sweet….haven’t seen her around in awhile.

Well, thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment Mirjam.

I hear ya about the plugins. Recently though I bought a great premium theme which was more than just a theme, it also eliminated the need for several common plugins that I normally use…and it requires only one upgrade…

plus with the new auto plugin update feature of WP, it’s less of a pain (but still a pain). I try to use the least amount of plugins as possible and just hack the theme to fit my needs if possible.

    Thanks for dropping by.

Update on the search plugin that creates new posts or pages: I tested a bunch of scenarios with it last night. Keep in mind that if you use FeedBurner and you have email subscribers then they will get an email for every new search…not good. 2 solutions…negative out that post category from your feed or use pages.

Now…an issue I have with it…which forced me to remove it from my site temporarily…it allows for NULL queries (it will create a post or page even if the search is empty) and it will also duplicate pages if there have been multiple queries for the same search term. Someone searches for “poster”, it creates a poster search results page…Great! Someone else searches for “poster” and it creates another poster search results page…not great!

The programmer is VERY quick to update the plugin and is very receptive to feedback. Remember, updates are free for this plugin (and I have no monetary gain for suggesting it to you). We’ll see how this plays out because for me the duplicate search issue will keep it off of my site. What a shame too because that plugin is amazing….I didn’t even mention the random content generation for titles and body text yet. That is slick stuff.

    Hi

Good work with the earnings and thanks for sharing how you do it.

It’s something I am considering trying at some point but I am yet to decide which site it would be most suited to!

    keep up the good work!
