Your Question Answered: Links In Posts

Make Money Online

Joyce from Health-Is-Natural asked if I could explain how to put links into a WordPress post. She wanted some screenshots to make the process simpler. Similarly, if you need any help with anything feel free to leave a comment on the QnA post and I will do my best to answer your question in the form of a post... and link back to your site.

Here are the steps Joyce... :)

I'll add a link to your blog in the previous paragraph and grab some screenshots while I do it with the free screen capture software Jing.

First, highlight the word you would like to link. If the word is a decent keyword it could give the link more value. In other words, try to avoid using the words "Click Here" as a link.

After highlighting the word, click on the chain icon. A little box will popup, occasionally the box takes a few seconds to load.

Type the full URL next to where it says Target URL. If you would like the link to open in a new window choose "Open link in new window" next to Target. If you type something in Title it will (in most browsers) show up when hovering over the link. The only thing that has to be added in this box though is the Target URL. Click on Insert and the box will close and the link will be blue.

That should be it. Publish the post and test out your link. Hope that helps Joyce. I apologize that I couldn't get it across without the screenshots. Let me know if you got it working...and thanks for submitting a question!

I’d like to know something. I do not have a separate page for each blog entry.
What happens if the page gets full. does it automatically start a new page? I don’t have to do anything?
    Thanks
    Joyce

    Hi Joyce,

Yep, it’s all automatic. Just write your posts and everything else is taken care of.
