Aight, so I’ll tell you some of the exciting details of my high-flying affiliate marketing career:
Been playing around with AM for a few months as time permits. I’ve made small amounts of money, but it’s not yet a significant part of my income. Interestingly, one of the companies I worked with is mentioned in one of your posts. My campaign with them started out quite promising, but as I was getting ready to try to scale it up, I started to suspect that they were skimming conversions and then a month or so ago they completely shut down and the CEO was indicted for fraud. (Maybe you should take out that link – I think they’re toast

So it’s a rough business, but I think I can have some fun and make some bucks with it.

Well if you end up being the lucky winner and you don’t want the Windows software I’m sure most of it will be transferable so you can run a contest maybe…I’d have to check to be certain but I don’t suspect it’ll be a prob…or, like you said just fire up Windows…(I know, it’s probably hard to go back to that nightmare after happily using Linux)

I’m interested mostly in the BANS license. I have seen BANS being talked about quite a bit lately in the blogs that I read. It seems like it is a great piece of software and it seems quite easy to use.
Although to be honest I am interested in pretty much everything else except for the consulting from TheUniversityKid, but maybe I could learn something from it. I’ve been wanting to start an online business for ages, but didn’t really know how. I started selling some stuff on eBay, but I would much prefer to have my own professional commercial site! @Everyone: New terms for the videos: A video is worth 50 entries… It’s only worth 80 if you are able to copy the HTML for the prize list underneath the video. Also, slide show videos are now worth 5 entries…videos with actual people in it are worth 50….And only unique videos are worth 50 entries….if you use the exact same video on other video sharing sites they are worth 5 (except for duplicate slideshow videos, they are worth 1). Fair enough?

I agree with the new rules, they’re fair.
Thank you for the update of my entries, although I’ve to say that that videos are slideshows and that they’re all the same (except for the music on a couple) so they should not be worth 50 entries.
My work is still in progress and I’m taking note of every action, so I suggest you roll back one step of my entries and wait until I’ve finished and I send you my report.

As for what drove me to take part, to be honest, the whole package is one great “starter pack” for anyone wanting to get really into marketing. I’ve been learning some stuff but don’t have the funds for all the software, scripts and development which really sets the pros apart from the silly noobs like me lol. So the whole pack is a huge motivation. If I had to pick one element that I like most, I’d probably say the bans/wordpress combination sounds awesome. I’ve been wanting to try BANS our forever but never had the cash to buy it and I love the ease of using wordpress so combining the two just sounds like it would be awesome. Of course the more expensive prizes would be great too but the one that got me the most excited was the combo pack. But this is like the dream package for anyone newer to marketing or on a low budget like myself lol.

@Everyone…I’m going to be doing a thorough recount at the end. There have been “non-genuine” entries…and I’m not afraid to take them out
They aren’t just honest mistakes either. But those of you that have taken the time to gain some genuine entries…I greatly appreciate it!
There are LOTS of EASY ways to get LOTS of entries and there’s still time…Read through all the contest posts and see if if you can grab some extras….Remember promoting other peoples blog posts about the contest (and your own) gets you extra entries as well.

@Everyone: I know people should never assume anything…but I assumed that I wouldn’t have to mention this stuff before the contest started…my mistake…
- Please don’t spam my links all over the place. I get pingbacks when my links are used. I check out the pages…and I noticed some people commenting and basically saying “get the hell outta here”…that reflects poorly on me. If links don’t belong somewhere, don’t put them there…they won’t count for anything anyways…
Also…I really should have mentioned this but writing more than one post about my contest on the SAME blog is useless. I want you to tell your readers about the contest… which is the point. If you write more than one post, you are spamming your own blog (correct me if I’m wrong)….I feel kinda bad, but I can’t give entries for stuff like that.
…so, when I’m adding up entries…I’m just going to go based on common sense…so your efforts might be futile if what you did seems at all ugly to me… I don’t really want to work with black hatters and spend time building blogs for them. Sorry….

Ohh, by the way I am motivated to enter this contest because of the prizes, namely BANS and the themes to make it look unique. Been wanting to try out BANS, still saving up enough to pay that $97. I wouldn’t mind winning the hosting either, I have one over at HostGator but if I have another one on GoDaddy, I’ll be able to links my sites, better that way because those sites will have 2 different ips.

I finally got around to reading the “create a review site” post (excellent idea BTW).
I blogged about it on both my blogs. But after reading the latest comments, not sure if they count or not. I have not blogged twice for you (twice on two separate blogs) but both are on different topics. The first was about the contest and now I have blogged about the “create a review site” post. I assume that is ok since both were listed as potential entries but just want to make sure.
If they count then I think my points total would be 188 (after the 30×2 for the review site post).

Back serious, consider this:
1. what you’re organizing is an amazing contest: look at the prizes of the Market Leverage contests which have infected the blogospere lately. That prizes are peanuts compared to yours ! So I really think that your contest deserves more attention.
2. I’ve not only posted my contestpost and goodbye, I’ve rambled around your blog and found out that there is really good content about affiliate marketing, skill in which I’m a noob. You’re one of the few guys how shows step by steps what works for you (see for example the Google Trends series or the Blog review post) and you’re also ready to provide further help. This blog should get as much exposure as possible.
3. I don’t think that 2 posts about the contest on my blogs could be seen as spam, as long as:
- the post have been posted on distance of a few days between each other
- the post have different content (one plain text, the second a videopost)
- there have been ather post between this two posts (they’re not consecutive)
- every post contains information on the fact that there is really more than only a contest on your blog (see point 2)
- I want that people really take action and goes to your blog. On every product launch there is a series of posts or emails in steps of a few days which are needed to motivate the reader to take action. I’ve done two posts, maybe this has driven somebody to reach your blog (maybe somebody else has felt spammed, who knows…)
4. I’ve never done affiliate marketing and I really would like to win the contest, because this tools could help me alot to take off, so it might be that in the heat of the competition I’ve lost the sense of the contest.
Hope this has clarified my motivations, anyway the contest is yours and I’m fine with any decision you’ll take. Please let me know if you feel something I did could hurt your blog or your competition: I’ll take it done immediately.
