You can grab a free copy of Market Samurai (for PC or MAC) which is a slick tool used for niche market research.
Market Samurai offers keyword research, keyword SERP tracking, competition analysis, backlink finding and a bunch more. I have the full copy and got it awhile back but I believe that if you decide not to upgrade, you still get access to the keyword research module for free.
