Have you checked out fiverr.com yet? It’s a site that lets you buy or sell “gigs” for 5 bucks. There are some really cool marketing type gigs available to help promote your web sites. Other gigs are just plain silly but it might be a good idea to roll over there anyway to find the good ones (or for a good laugh).
Ideas for posting gigs…. If you have a membership site (Traffic-Bug for example) that provides a service of some kind.. and it only takes minutes to create a service on the membership site.. then it could be a good gig to offer to people. I wouldn’t spend an awful lot of time trying to earn $5 but if it only takes a few minutes then it’s probably worth it.
Or, if you can do a quick service (like install WordPress) that has potential for other more complicated and higher paid work, that might not be a bad idea. I realize most of us are seeking residual, make money while you sleep type income but it doesn’t hurt to scrape up some quick advertising, or hosting, or domain, etc. dollars. Plus.. if you enjoy doing the work, might as well get a bit of cash for it.
Oh.. btw you only get $4 if you post gigs. The site owners get $1 for each of your gigs. And.. it takes a couple weeks and a minimum of $40 before you can get paid. Despite those things, A LOT of transactions are taking place. Ya know.. if you have PHP skills and can duplicate the system (and improve on it because there is definite room for improvement) then you can create similar niche-specific gig sites.. and also sell the script to others. I’d buy it :)
